Star Wars: The Clone Wars games are finally unveiled by LucasArts; both titles due to arrive this Holiday season...

Thanks to departing LucasArts employees spilling the beans back at the start of the month today's news isn't a surprise, but it's nice to finally get some confirmation: games based on the upcoming CGI Star Wars: The Clone Wars are heading to Wii and Nintendo DS this Holiday.

In production at Krome Studios, the outfit behind last year's Viva Pinata: Party Animals for Xbox 360, Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Lightsaber Duels will be the title that some will have gone out and bought their Wii for. The game features 'intuitive' Wii-remote motion controls to immerse players into the Star Wars universe. It sounds interesting enough, but let's hope that it's a tad more advanced than the lacklustre approaches taken by others in the past (we're looking at you Red Steel...and you're just for starters!)

Heading to Nintendo DS will be Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Jedi Alliance, not to be confused with 2006's Star Wars: Lethal Alliance. Handheld gamers will apparently experience the full power of The Force as two Jedi team up to battle against the Imperial army, all with the help of the DS stylus.

"Working on The Clone Wars chapter of the Star Wars Saga has been an exciting endeavor for everyone here at LucasArts," said Feargus Carroll, project lead for LucasArts Singapore. "The intuitive and accessible gameplay on both the Wii and the Nintendo DS complement one of the most exciting Star Wars adventures yet."

What? a MGS fan complaining about a franchise that has become a cash cow and continues to deliver more of the same? Well then, we can also say this: "Not more Metal Gear Solid games, will it ever end? maybe with a big big bang".

If the game does come out it depends on how the game works will depend on how good it is. Hopefully (if it does come out) on the wii version the wii zapper is used for guns or the lightsaber can be used for Jedi.
