<b>12:01 15/11/01 – Times Sq, New York</b> <br /> <br /> Times Sq is awash with green, spotlights and strobes illuminate the NY sky, video billboards infuse the Xbox logo to your subconscious, Taxis taking you to and fro shamelessly plug Bill’s new toy as the Xbox went on general sale across Northern America at Midnight today. <br /> <br /> The proceedings kicked off with a presentation at Times Sq, where Bill Gates and WWF’s The Rock, had a few battles on Dead or Alive 3. <br /> <br /> Bill Gates then met the public at the official launch retailer, Toys ‘r’ Us. Bill played and posed for photos, and genuinely looked like he was having a good time. It’s unknown how good a games player Bill is, so if you were there let us know, we want to know if Bill kicks butt at DoA3, and if it’s true that he has a secret passion for Munch and the bunch!!! <br /> <br /> It’s been reported that the entire allocation of 300,000 units were already pre-sold, however a new batch will be shipped first thing on Monday morning. <br /> <br /> All in all, quite a good launch for Microsoft’s first foray into the videogames world. <br />
