Star Wars Galaxies Set To Expand Again News

Following the Jump to Lightspeed and the Rage of the Wookies, Star Wars Galaxies is set to expand once again with the forthcoming release of Star Wars Galaxies: Trials of Obi-Wan. Set on the volcanic planet of Mustafar, players will be able to follow the path laid down by the spirit of Obi-Wan himself from the ashen â??beachâ?? where he defeated Anakin Skywalker right across the inhospitable world.

A high-level task also features in the game where players will be able to acquire a red crystal to turn their lightsaber blade to a Sithâ??s favourite colour, as well as a rich reward on completion of Obi-Wanâ??s tasks. The expansion pack will also feature the return of a central character from Biowareâ??s Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republicâ?¦

"With Trials of Obi-Wan being an expansion set for release via digital download the same day as the Episode III DVD, we can't think of a better planet to add to Star Wars Galaxies than Mustafar," said Julio Torres, Producer at LucasArts. "Meanwhile, including the spirit of Obi-Wan nicely bridges the prequel era and the more classic-oriented time period depicted in the game. We're really excited about continuing mythology established by other LucasArts games, as well."

"A lot of positive changes have taken effect since Star Wars Galaxies first launched," said Nancy MacIntyre, LucasArts' Senior Director for the game. "We've picked up quite a few new fans and reintroduced many others to the game, especially since the Rage of the Wookiees expansion in May. Trials of Obi-Wan will only further this positive momentum."

The news of the expansion pack comes shortly after the resetting of several gameplay systems within the game that proved to be pretty much universally despised by the Galaxies community - guess people power does sometimes work.
