Ubi announces the development of a Star Wars Episode III adaptation for the Sony PSP, Nintendo DS and GameBoy Advance…

Ubisoft today announced an exclusive licensing deal with LucasArts to develop games based on the forthcoming Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, for the Nintendo DS, Sony PSP and the GBA.

Currently in development at Ubisoft’s acclaimed Montreal studios, the game promises to full leverage the strengths of each individual handheld, with the promise of multiple character control, devastating Force powers and never before seen locations.

“Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith will be the video game that every handheld gaming fan on the planet will enjoy playing - including those of the epic Star Wars series,” said Alain Corre, Ubisoft’s managing director for Europe, Middle East and Asia. “This ultimate Jedi action game will astound gamers using the new handheld technology from Sony’s PSP and the Nintendo DS. As always, it’s a pleasure to pursue our partnership with LucasArts, particularly with such a hot license.”

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith is scheduled for release alongside the movie in Spring 2005; we’ll have more information soon.
