Original Spock To Unveil Star Trek MMO News

By Jon Wilcox on 06/08/2008

Leonard Nimoy to unveiling the first gameplay footage of Cryptic's upcoming title, boldly going where no one has gone before...

Cryptic Studios has announced that the first gameplay footage of the Star Trek MMO will be unveiled on Sunday evening, with Mr Spock himself, Leonard Nimoy, in attendance.

The developer, which only recently confirmed that they'd taken over the sci-fi licence from Perpetual Entertainment, has also announced that the unveiling will be streamed live over the web at 1:30pm PST (9:30pm BST) on Sunday. More details on the webcast are expected in the coming days at the official website.

The footage will be shown at the Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas, where Trekkers will no doubt hope to live long and (with a bit of luck on the craps tables) prosper.

You're insane. This game will be HUGE and cryptic is the right gaming company to do it.

a star trek MMO could be bloody brilliant if it's done properly, with all the different races, ships and events that have taken place throughout the show there is a hell of a lot of things that can be done.

Honestly, a Star Trek mmo sounds like absolute garbage and Cryptic Studios should drop it before they lose millions of dollars and half a decade of development. The time and money can be better spent on other projects.
