Dorothy "D.C." Fontana scripts Bethesda's dual attempts to boldly go...
Bethesda Softworks has today confirmed that veteran Star Trek writer, Dorothy "D.C." Fontana and her partner Derek Chester, have been signed to write the scripts for the upcoming games Star Trek: Legacy for Xbox 360 and Star Trek: Tactical Assault for PSP and Nintendo DS.
Having worked on three of the Star Trek franchises from the Original Series through to Deep Space Nine, Fontana has decades of experience exploring the final frontier - something that Bethesda were keen to tap into for their two titles:
"We are thrilled to have one of STAR TREK's most prolific and distinguished writers on our project team," said Todd Vaughn, Bethesda Softworks' VP of Development. "Fontana's involvement underscores our commitment to remain true to the STAR TREK vision and provide fans with the exceptional, original and accurate STAR TREK games that they deserve."
"From TV to videogames, the STAR TREK story continues to excite and engage fans of all ages," said Fontana. "I applaud Bethesda Softworks' loyalty to the franchise and I am looking forward to providing fans with memorable adventures and characters, all set in creative, compelling storylines."
Currently in development at Mad Doc, Star Trek: Legacy spans the entire Star Trek timeline from the days of Captain Archer right through to Captain Janeway on Voyager, whilst star Trek: Tactical Assault is a real-time title set to pit the Federation against the Klingons...
We'll have more on both Star Trek titles in the future...
