Nintendo has announced that over two million unique gamers have used Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection via their DS handhelds, with over seventy million connections being made so far.

Making the statement, George Harrison, Nintendo of America's Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications commented "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection continues to set the standard for easy, fun and safe wireless gaming...Our hand-held leadership will continue unabated with today's launch of Star Fox Command and the anticipation of our upcoming Wi-Fi titles."

News of the achievement comes on the day that StarFox Command for Nintendo DS, another Wi-Fi Connection enabled title, hit stores in North America. The game is set for release in Europe later in the Autumn.
