Rumours stemming from Japan suggest the NAMCO developed shooter will contain one or two juicy secrets...

Nintendo loves nothing more then reminding us all of its past glories, witness evidence such as the range of classic NES titles featured in the excellent Animal Crossing, or perhaps the NES Classics range on the GameBoy Advance.

So it came as little surprise when we heard a rumour today suggesting that the forthcoming GameCube shooter, Starfox: Assault, would feature the likes of Battle City, Xevious and the obscure Starluster within.

Despite the lack of official confirmation the fact that NAMCO are developing Starfox: Assault gives some credit to the appearance of their older titles appearing, although weâ??d advise wistful older gamers excited at a bit of nostalgia to wait a little longer for official confirmation before jumping from the rafters.

Starfox: Assault is scheduled for a Japanese and American release in February 2005, following in Europe during Q2 2005; weâ??ll have more information and a closer look soon.
