Will Wright's obscenely anticipated Spore arriving on PC, Nintendo DS, and Mac in September...

The subject of intense expectation (not to mention EA shareholders' demands for another franchise rivalling The Sims), it seems as though development is finally approaching an end for Will Wright's Spore, with confirmation that the game will be released for PC, Mac, and DS on the weekend of September 7th.

Will Wright certainly seems happy that it's all finally coming to an end:

"The wait is almost over," proclaimed the Maxis' Chief Designer. "We're in our final stages of testing and polish with Spore, and the team at Maxis can't wait to see the cosmos of content created by the community later this year."

We'll have some clarification on the specific UK date soon, but keep an eye out for plenty of Spore coverage hitting TVG over the next couple of days.
