EA confirms a portable edition of Will Wright's upcoming evolutionary title...
In a webcast of their third quarter financial results, Electronic Arts has confirmed that a version of Spore will be released on Nintendo DS during the 2008 fiscal year - which runs through to the end of March 2008.
Spore, which is being developed by The Sims and Sim City creator Will Wright, had only previously been announced for PC, though both Wright himself and job vacancies at EA suggested that portable versions were in the works. The game charts the evolution of species from single-celled organisms, through to the dawn of civilisation, and the inevitable race to space.
The PC version of Spore is set to hit stores in the second half of 2007.
