It looks as if the planned announcement has fallen by the wayside, for now at least...

We recently brought you news of the impending release of the first information from Splinter Cell 2, or so it seemed. The original unveiling was scheduled for Tuesday, which was quickly moved to Wednesday and now appears to be uncertain, as the following message was left at the Splinter Cell web site:<br><br><i>Hi Everyone, <br><br>We understand that you are very anxious for the announcement and have been patiently waiting. We are sorry to let you down but there will be no news today. Stay tuned and we'll have more news in the coming days. <br><br>Our apologies,<br><br>The Splinter Cell Team</i><br><br>It appears that Ubisoft have decided to hold on to the announcement until E3, setting up an epic grudge match as Konami look set to unveil the latest exploits of Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid 3. <br><br>We’ll have more details on both titles very, very soon…
