Ubisoft Confirms Wii Double Agent News
Official confirmation and the first screens from Sam Fisher's Wii debut...
By Chris LeytonPosted: 11/09/2006
Following earlier speculation Ubisoft today confirmed the release of Splinter Cell: Double Agent for the Nintendo Wii.
An official release confirms that the Wii controller will be used to "take stealth moves to a whole new level", which hopefully translates into more than the shaking to pick locks that IGN previously speculated towards. Further information suggests all-new upgradeable weapons and gadgets, which will utilise the unique capabilities of the Wii controller - though Ubisoft refused to discuss specifics.
"We are very excited to bring Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent(tm) to the Wii this Christmas season," said John Parkes, director of marketing at Ubisoft EMEA. "The Splinter Cell franchise has always translated very well across multiple platforms and we are confident that the Wii version will continue the tradition of maximising the capabilities of each respective video game console platform."
Splinter Cell: Double Agent will launch alongside the Nintendo Wii during November; we should have exact details of exactly when that will occur later in the week.

To all those who complain about the Shanghai studio, you need to remember they were the ones who brought us Pandora Tommorow, the BEST game in the SPlinter cell series by far! All you Chaos Theory noobs who whine about no deathmatch go play Gaylo. Remeber Shanghai has been the creative ones, Chaos Theory was just an expansion of a great game with a couple added features. Yes I am upset about the direction they took the multiplayer, but I haven't completly lost my faith in Ubisoft (yet). They somewhat redeemed themselves with Rainbow 6 vegas.
