Ubisoft today sent along the first ever screens taken from the Playstation2 build of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. Looking quite frankly phenomenal, the guys at Ubisoft Montreal have worked wonders to create such striking visuals, with a host of techniques including geo-texturing, reflections, refractions and a host of water effects, to make Chaos Theory one of the most graphically stunning titles to be released on the system.

The shots are taken from the Hokkaido and Cargo ship levels, the screens demonstrate the rich detail, sophisticated lighting and stunning shadow effects that PS2 owners will be able to enjoy.

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is scheduled for release in March across all formats; we’ll have more information soon.
