Amazon suggests that NAMCO will return to its infamous slasher franchise later in the year…

Always one to infuriate the publishers and send the Internet into speculation overdrive, Amazon today made yet another product update hinting at the return of an infamous MegaDrive title.

As you can see, the online retailer believes that a new Splatterhouse title is currently in development; for those who missed out on it the first time around, Splatterhouse was originally released in the arcades and saw sequels released on the MegaDrive by NAMCO.

It drew a lot of controversy for being one of the first videogame to depict blood and gore more commonly associated with the latest slasher flick then the cute and cuddly videogames of the time.
