Activision's president leads an outburst against the quality of recent Spider-Man games...
Activision likes a franchise, particularly one it can churn out year-on-year. You'd imagine a bankable license such as Marvel's Spider-Man would be right up their street, but it seems even the webslinger isn't safe from Bobby Kotick's stinging sense of justice.
"Our Spider-Man games have sucked for the last five years. They are bad games. They were poorly rated because they were bad games," Kotick told Game Informer. "We went away from what is Spider-Man. It's about web-slinging. If you don't do web-slinging, what is the fantasy of Spider-Man?"
The last five years has brought us... wait for it... Spider-Man: Web of Shadows (2008), Spider-Man: Friend or Foe (2007), Spider-Man 3 (2007) and Ultimate Spider-Man (2005). Although it's not quite one a year, it's pretty prolific even for a super hero.
Perhaps it's the fact that a yearly release is just squeezing the stone a little too much; perhaps Spider-Man fans and gamers would respond more favourably to games that have been carefully designed and spark a little creativity, instead of just turning out to feed the bottom line?
We'd like to point Kotick to the lyrics of the Spider-Man theme: "Wealth and fame, he's ignored - Action is his reward."

Not without its issues but overall i loved playing through this game, huge cast of villans, really good fun. Why the heck they cant sort the camera out in spidey games is beyond me. Weve had 10 years of a bad Spidey cam! SORT IT OUT!!!! You would think it would be No.1 priority as everyone always moans about it.
