Reports yesterday revealed that British publisher, Empire Interactive were in the process of shutting down or selling its final internal studio, Razorworks.
The outfit, responsible for the Xbox Live Arcade titles Speedball 2 and Double Dragon, had recently switched into pre-production on a new brand for Wii. It was unclear yesterday what the future of the title would be.
Empire Interactive has today contacted TVG to update the situation, confirming that a consultation of the studio's future is underway:
"At this time we can only confirm that we are currently talking to a number of studios regarding the future of Razorworks, with the aim of finding the best solution for the studio and its staff. In the meantime Razorworks will continue to work towards delivering their current product range."
Hopefully, the studio's future will be secured with a buyout, which will certainly be a relief to its 30 employees.
