Llamasoft boss halfway through the development of next XBLA title, despite the blow of Frogger...

Having delivered Space Giraffe, his debut title on Xbox Live Arcade earlier in the year, it seems that all is not well with Llamasoft's Jeff Minter, who has posted a short rant onto his blog at LiveJournal.

And the reason?

It seems that Minter wasn't best pleased by the recent performance of the quirky shooter, which has been outsold in one week by a port of the abysmal 8-bit title Frogger.

Minter commented: "All you want on that channel is remakes of old, sh**e arcade games and crap you vaguely remember playing on your Amiga...We'll shut up trying to do anything new then...Sorry for even trying."

A later post added by a calmer Minter that: "...it is a bit disappointing to see a repackaged MAME rom doing much better than original content, but hey, that's how it goes. People are more inclined to buy stuff they remember rather than stuff that's new...I'm already halfway through the next one and I just want to get my head down and get on with it."

Minter is currently halfway through re-working GridRunner++ for future release on XBLA.
