More on this gameCheck out a new video in our first look at Ulala`s return...
Ulala is back, in the words of creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi this time more crazy, more happy, more musical…

Going back to E3 00, a year in which Sega won the show thanks in no small part to a live show featuring the then unknown Ulala. Despite the shows success Space Channel 5 didn`t live up to expectations, hopefully this time around Ulala can charm the Sony masses as she`s set to appear on the PS2.

For those that didn`t play the first title, Space Channel 5 Part 2 is a rhythm game featuring the delectable TV presenter Ulala. Marching around the games levels, Ulala is greeted by aliens who`ve captured innocent humans whilst getting down to some serious boogying at the same time. It`s up to Ulala to outdo them by mimicking their actions in a simon-says manner, win and the humans will join you as back-up dancers, loose and your support will slowly dwindle until your TV ratings reach 0 and it`s game over, think Parappa and you`re on the right path.

What Space Channel 5 had was personality and it`s own distinctive charm, Ulala was sexy and sassy, whilst the games aliens were overly cute. This has been enhanced for the sequel; Mizuguchi has stated that the game will be a lot “more dramatic” then it`s predecessor, so expect a more Broadway musical atmosphere interspersed into the MTV styled presentation.

Whilst the main focus is on the game`s presentation, a few enhancements to the actual game have also been included. No longer content with just dancing and shooting, Ulala tries her hand at drumming and Karaoke. You`ll also get the opportunity to collect items hidden in the game; these can then be used to change the character`s appearance.

Michael Jackson is also set to make a comeback as Space Michael, he`s set for a more significant role this time around as the director of the TV station employing Ulala.
