American Pie producer acquires the rights to NAMCO fighting franchise…

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Warren Zide (American Pie, Final Destination) has secured the film rights to NAMCOs ‘Soul Calibur’ franchise.

No specific date has yet to be set, however it’s believed that this will be the first project to be undertaken at his new Sony based production firm, Anthem Pictures; whilst Matthew Rhodes, Noel Vega and Jesse Warshal will co-produce.

In separate news (and we’re still not entirely convinced) we’ve heard rumours that suggest the ‘Pac-Man’ franchise will be the next up for a movie adaptation, with sources suggesting a live-action version – although we just can’t get our heads around that for the time being.
