By Chris Leyton on 16/04/2007Sonic's rushing back to the DS for more Adventure action...
Sonic fans can look forward to a sequel to his greatest adventure in recent years, with confirmation that Sonic Rush Adventure is currently in development for the Nintendo DS.
Taking the blue hedgehog to the high seas in search of pirate treasure, Sonic rush Adventure combines the traditional 2D action from the original, along with a new high seas adventure where Sonic clashes with ruthless pirates.
Setting off from Windmill Village, Sonic Rush Adventure features seven diverse levels and makes full use of the DS Download Play options, along with Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection support to compete in wireless racing and mission-based battles. Racing through lush forests, an ominous ghost ship, snow covered mountains, pirate villages and a vast undercover sea cave, an army of enemy characters stand in Sonic's way including robots, skeleton warriors, pterodactyls, and a robotic triceratops!
Using the stylus to control a fleet of five ships, including a submarine, water-bike and hovercraft, Sonic and Tails must race across the ocean gathering rings, performing tricks, and torching pirate boats, whilst engaging in ship-to-ship battles.
Sonic Rush Adventure is in development at SEGA Studios and scheduled for a release during the Autumn.
