Sonic and the team prepare to airboard their way across the landscape in this forthcoming title from SEGA...

Following on from news reported just days ago, SEGA has released the first details surrounding Sonic Riders. Set for release across all three current-gen home consoles in 2006, Sonic Riders follows the blue spiked hedgehog and his friends as they airboard their way around a host of locations in a bid to stop Eggman and his gang, Band of Thieves: Babylon.

Eggman throws down the gauntlet and challenges riders from across the world to races across locations from the Sonic universe in a bid to win the ultra rare Chaos Emerald. Each of the airboards are tailored to suit the abilities of its rider so expect Sonics to fly at the speed of sound when the game is released during next year.
