Seems like last week's trademarks were referring to one and the same game...
Last week's digging around the depths of the United States Patents and Trademark Office brought up two very interesting applications from SEGA: Sonic Chronicles and The Dark Brotherhood. Whilst it didn't require the biggest leap in faith to presume that Sonic Chronicles was the final title for Bioware's upcoming Sonic RPG on Nintendo DS, The Dark Brotherhood application left us in the dark.
A report in Nintendo Power (via Jeux-France) has however revealed that the two trademarks refer to one and the same game: Sonic Chronicles - The Dark Brotherhood. But that's not all; the first details of the game have also apparently emerged too.
Following in the footsteps of The Phantom Hourglass, Sonic Chronicles will include a stylus-exclusive control system, though typical Bioware RPG features will also make the cut. This includes the ability to form a four-man (or should that be four-animal?) party made from up to eleven characters from the Sonic universe. The article also suggests that the story may involve a kidnapped Knuckles and those all-too-often-desirable Chaos Emeralds.
The game itself is due out at some point before end of the year.

I knew one day Sonic would be in an RPG. Sonic showed everyone he has more than just speed in Sonic Battle for game boy advance, and more recently in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, where he sports very similar attacks. curious if this game will work with the kinda of moves the characters had in Sonic Battle or if they will be different and... maybe flashier either way this is going to be my next must buy title for DS
