Nintendo Power cover reveals a new Sonic game is heading to Wii...
The latest issue of Nintendo Power has hit the internet (or more specifically the front cover) and with it comes confirmation of a new Sonic title for Wii.
Perhaps pointing to the fact that Sonic's home is well and truly on Wii, despite Sonic Unleashed being released on Xbox 360 and PS3 as well, Sonic and the Black Knight appears to be an exclusive for Nintendo's home format.
A render of Sonic with a gauntlet and sword suggests something all together different is planned this time around, and we're already hoping that the game will support Nintendo's recently announced MotionPlus device to make those sword bouts more enticing.
Unfortunately that's about it at this stage, though we doubt SEGA will take too long before officially unveiling the blue hedgehog's latest escapade.

Following today's earlier news, SEGA has officially revealed Sonic and the Black Knight. Dubbed the second title in the Storybook Series that began with Sonic and the Secret Rings, Sonic and the Black Knight puts Sonic into the world of King Arthur.
Currently in development at Sonic Team in Japan, Sonic is thrust into a medieval world and armed with a sword to save the day. Today's press release mentions the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, but doesn't refer to the MotionPlus attachment - we can only hope.

Why downcast one of the most memorable video game characters of all time? Even though Sonic has had some less-than-perfect games, that's no reason to send him to the pits of Hades. Just wait out the storm and hope that the Sonic team has a good bout of inspiration. Besides, have you ever thought that maybe the Sonic team is doing their best to try and save the franchise? If it wasn't for their hard work, we wouldn't be talking about Sonic for as long as we do, creating all the fanart we draw, and posting comments like this one on articles that are more appropriate on a website that would have a much better time playing the games and badly criticise what some people have spent years trying to achieve
