Sega finally confirms that a new Sonic title is in the works...

Sega of Japan has confirmed to us that a new Sonic title is heading to the GameCube later this year. A listing for Sonic Adventure DX is scheduled for a summer release in Japan and promises to be a 3D affair like the previous Sonic Adventure titles, which is likely to upset those yearning for a new 2D title. Hopefully Sega will release the first specific information and screens soon.<br><br>A collection of older Sonic titles is due to be released beforehand on the GameCube, under the title of Sonic Mega Collection; suggesting that the GameCube is the format of choice at Sonic Team.<br><br>Tantalisingly a Sonic Team representative recently claimed that 2003 would be the year of the blue hedgehog; what more can we expect from Sonic, we’ll let you know as soon as we uncover more details.<br>
