Shenmue's lead character makes a long awaited return, but probably not quite how we'd expected...
Watching Ryo Hazuki race alongside Sonic, Eggman and Ai-Ai in Sonic and SEGA All Stars Racing may not be the return that Shenmue fans hoped for, but at least it signals the first time we've seen him in over eight years.
On the plus side it does have Ryo racing around in a forklift truck - and for that we're very, very happy SEGA. What used to be mild curiosity over a fanboy kart-racer has now turned into something we're genuinely craving over, simply to see Ryo in action once again.
After eight long years the star of Shenmue finally returns...
Perhaps SEGA will be good enough to wrap up the conclusion of Hazuki's quest for revenge and solve the unresolved cliff-hanger left from Shenmue 2. Something along the lines of: while racing against Sonic, Ryo powerslides around an upcoming corner and crashes into Lan Di crossing the road to buy a hot dog from Tom, in the process smashing the sacred Dragon Mirror to pieces. Ryo speeds off into the distance only to find Joy stuck by the roadside attempting to thumb a lift after her bike has broken down. The two ride off into the sunset.

What a load of shat! C'mon SEGA pull your socks up! We want a conclusion to the Shenmue series, SHENMUE 3!!!, we don't want half-assed products with a silly mixuture of game mascots, it just doesn't work - case in point!....
