Red Mile Entertainment announces that Sin City: The Game may not be released until fiscal 2012, if at all...

Developer-come-publisher Red Mile Entertainment has announced that Sin City: The Game will not be released until the 2012 fiscal year (April 2011 through March 2012), and even that distant release date is only applicable if the company can raise enough funds to continue development.

Since Red Mile first announced that it had acquired the rights for a Sin City game back in 2007, it has since revealed that the title will be built with the Unreal Engine 3 and that Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay's Frank Dille is overseeing production on the title.

However, this has all been thrown into doubt by Red Mile's latest financial report, where the company states, "We are also developing Sin City: The Game (working title) and currently in the process of negotiating revisions to the license agreement. If we can raise sufficient funds to continue operations, we expect to ship this game in fiscal 2012."

Red Mile is also warning of possible delays to Heroes Over Europe, a game that it's co-publishing with Atari for developer Transmission Games. Although Red Mile still expects the title to ship in fiscal 2010 as was previously announced, the publisher also notes that it's experiencing delays in payments from Atari, which is disrupting production of the game at Transmission.

"We have been experiencing milestone payment delays from our co-publishing partner on Heroes Over Europe and have accordingly been delayed in making payments to our developer," Red Mile explained. "Failure to make timely payments will likely cause us to miss our expected ship date," the publisher continued.

Heroes Over Europe is the sequel to 2005's Heroes of the Pacific.

This could end up being like a cheap GTA rip off, lets hope it isnt. I'd like this game to be free roaming like GTA but have it so you have your own character and not just playing out the books.
