Silent Hill Wii Confirmed News

Rumours of a Silent Hill remake appear to have been spot on, with confirmation coming in the latest issue of Nintendo Power - well the Wii version at least, it's not like they're going to talk about the previously sighted PSP version.

Described as a "re-imagining" of the original, Nintendo Power suggests that although you'll still play as the original protagonist, Harry Mason, things will be significantly different to the 1999 Psone original.

Early information suggests the game will keep track of your choices and the experience will alter accordingly. As Konami's Tomm Hulett points out: "In Silent Hill games, the town always gets inside the protagonist's head, but now, it's getting inside YOUR head."

The game will take full advantage of the Wii Remote with additional information suggesting a lot less backtracking and the abundance of locked doors will be toned down significantly - thank you Konami.

Now whether the game can actually break the Wii's curse of core video games never selling seems to be the last hurdle to overcome. Expect more details and hopefully confirmation of the PSP title soon.
