Konami release the first details of the Silent Hill movie; hopefully this one might turn out to be half decent...

The number of videogame licenses that have been snapped up by movie companies this year is quite frankly unbelievable, however we have some concerns that most of these if they ever turn up will be pitiful affairs that fail to serve the games any justice.<br><br>That said Konami’s recent announcement regarding a ‘Silent Hill’ adaptation has left us with high hopes.<br><br>Teaming with Samuel Hadida and his production company Davis Films Sarl, who have previously given us the likes of ‘True Romance’, ‘Brotherhood of the Wolf’ and ‘Spinder’. The production company has confirmed that Christophe Gans (Brotherhood of the Wolf, Crying Freeman) has been appointed as the director, whilst thankfully Konami will be involved in everything from script supervision, monster designs and sound creation.<br><br>Hopefully this will eradicate any problems seen in previous movie adaptations, wherby the resulting movies completely fail to capture the spirit of the games origins; we’ll have more news on the movie soon.
