Pirates! To Swashbuckle Onto PSP In February News

Sid Meier's buccaneer sim to be walking the plank on Sony's handheld from February 2007...

2K Games has today confirmed that Sid Meier's Pirates!, released on PC and Xbox in 2004/2005, will be heading to PSP on February 23rd 2007. Currently in development at Firaxis, the game sees players take to the Caribbean high-seas for a life of plank-walking, cutlass waving, and treasure hunting, and will include Ad Hoc multiplayer for up to four players.

"Sid Meier's Pirates! is already a proven success," said Christoph Hartmann, President of 2K. "The universal appeal and compelling gameplay in Pirates! makes it a perfect match for the PSP system."

"We love the new possibilities from handheld systems like the PSP system," added Sid Meier, Director of Creative Development at Firaxis Games. "Pirates! for the PSP system allows players to shape the heroic life of a pirate while embracing the pirate's way of life - always on the go!"
