Civ Invades Consoles On June 3rd News

2K Games announces a June 3rd release in the US for Civilization Revolution on Xbox 360, PS3 and DS...

2K Games has announced that Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution (currently in development at Firaxis) will come to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo DS on June 3rd in the US. As long as the game is released in Europe at the same time, it'll be in our stores on June 6th.

Civilization Revolution will be the first Civ title to bring Sid Meier's legendary 4X gameplay to the consoles. Here's hoping it's been worth the 17 year wait.

The Nintendo Wii was originally scheduled alongside the next-gen machines and DS, although 2K Games recently announced that the Wii version had been put on hold for the time being. As a result, it won't be joining the party in early June.

The developer also has a couple of announced games in the pipeline. Alpha Centauri 2 would be awesome though - could give the 4X strategy genre the kind of boost that it's in desperate need of.
