Cookie Monster and Elmo to help kids learn "key life skills" in "whimsical storybook adventure"...

sesameTim Schafer’s development studio, Double Fine Productions, are hard at work on a Kinect-enabled Sesame Street game. The studio most recently released Stacking and Costume Quest for digital download; Schafer is lauded for the writing in his games, with notable classics including Psychonauts and Grim Fandango.

“Sesame Street had a profound effect on me, and many members of the Double Fine team, when we were children. So did video games.” said Tim Schafer, President and CEO of Double Fine Productions.

“Now many of us are parents and we want to share with our kids the great experiences we had, but also the completely new ones made possible by cutting-edge technology like Kinect for Xbox 360. So it’s a labour of love on many levels.”

Players will dance, jump, and fly in the game, making friends and “learning key life skills” under the direction of the social and emotional curriculum set forth by Sesame Workshop - the non-profit educational organisation behind Sesame Street. The title is due out for Xbox 360 this Autumn.
