US publication Nintendo Power has revealed that SEGA will be releasing Dreamcast rhythm title Samba de Amigo onto Virtual Console. In development at Gearbox Software (yes, the Brothers in Arms guys) Samba de Amigo marks the first time that a Dreamcast title will be heading to Virtual Console.
No word on when the game will launch on Virtual Console, but with Samba's release onto the platform, can we expect further Dreamcast titles like Metropolis Street Racer and Sonic Adventure to follow suit? So far, SEGA is keeping so far keeping quiet, but Samba's future release suggests the start of a new raft of titles onto Virtual Console.
Gearbox Software isn't only working on Samba for SEGA - the developer is currently producing an adaptation of the Aliens franchise for the publisher, due for release in 2009 at the earliest.
Given that the original release was on GD-ROM, we're also guessing that sales of SD cards will shortly be going through to the roof in order for the game to fit...
