Crime solving duo make an unexpected though more then welcome return to the videogames industry.

Many videogame veterans will recollect fond memories of LucasArts point-and-click adventure title, Sam and Max. Like many of it's titles in the same genre, Sam and Max kept us glued to our screens with it's intriguing plot, humour and gameplay. The game even spawned its own animated series.

Well video game veterans ready your smile, as Infinite Machines are currently in the process of bringing back the crime solving duo for Xbox and other next-gen machines.

Details are extremely scarce at present, Infinite Machines have stated that the game will be an action/adventure game and issued the following artwork you can see here from the creator of Sam and Max, Steve Purcell. Though I'd hazard a guess that it won't be a point-and-click title, unfortunately that genre has seemingly fallen by the wayside in recent times.

Whatever happens, it's good news for those of us that remember the golden age in videogames.
