By Chris Leyton on 04/03/2004 OK so it was announced last year, however a year brings a platform change + other details...LucasArts today announced further details of Sam & Max’ return. Previously announced last year, the forthcoming PC title is a sequel to the hit 1993 point-and-click adventure, starring the famous crime-solving duo of a talking dog and a hyper-kinetic bunny.
Originally intended as an Xbox title, the game now appears to be in development solely for the PC. Last years announcement came from the now defunct developers and Sam & Max creators, Infinite Machine, at present its unknown whether they are handling this title.
“Sam & Max Hit the Road is a classic and as close to being a signature game as any LucasArts has ever done,” says Simon Jeffery, president of LucasArts. “The Sam & Max sequel, much like the recently announced Full Throttle II, perfectly complements LucasArts’ renowned adventure game legacy and lends further support to the company’s commitment to investing in and developing more of our original properties.”
Unfortunately no other details have been announced, it’s believed that the game is scheduled for a Q1 04 release, so there’s some time yet for Sam & Max…
