Disillusioned fans can stop signing petitions as TellTale picks up the license...

The future of Sam & Max has been a hotly talked about subject ever since LucasArts confirmed that it was ditching plans for a sequel back in 2004. Since then the US publisher lost the license to Steve Purcellâ??s creation, with all eyes on Dan Connors TellTale Games to assume responsibility.

Today Adventure Gamers claims that an agreement between Purcell and TellTale Games was announced at a recent event held in San Francisco. Itâ??s believed that TellTale are working on an original adventure for the popular dog and rabbit crime-solving duo, and will not reprise the LucasArts sequel, Sam and Max: Freelance Police. In addition the game will feature episodic content via TellTaleâ??s digital distribution system, TellTale Now.

Weâ??ll have more on Sam and Max soon.
