The hip-hop open world title delayed till the September quarter of 2006...
Rumours have suggested in recent days that the THQ/Volition Xbox 360 title Saint's Row had been put back from its original May 2006 release to the September quarter, and today that delay has been confirmed by THQ.
A persistent open-world experience set in the fictitious city of Still Water, Saint's Row centres on hip-hop gangs as they vie for total control on the streets. At the game's announcement in May 2005, Jack Sorensen, Executive Vice President of Worldwide Studios, THQ claimed that, "Saint's Row represents an evolution in open world game design and breaks the mold [sic], pushing the genre in a new direction of choice and consequence," so we'll keep an eye on whether that statement rings true in the coming months.
TVG recently had the chance to interview some of the team at Saint's Row developers Volition; keep and eye out for that very soon...
