Volition confirms an automatic patch for the sandbox title; online lag and a number of issues addressed...

Volition Inc. has today confirmed the release of a patch for the Xbox 360 sandbox title, Saints Row, which debuted on the console earlier in the year.

A wide number of issues have been addressed in the patch, including lag during online play, and the 'Stand-by' hack that enabled cheaters to go around the map unseen (something that plagued Halo 2 gamers when it was first launched in 2004). Improvements have also been made to speed up the Matchmaking process, and the 'Clothes Stealing' hack has been fixed.

General fixes will allow players to enable v-sync during cutscenes and gameplay, though Volition warns that this may affect the frame rate of the game; they've also increased anti-aliasing for 480p gamers to 4xAA.
