In an interview with TVG, Volition's Associate Producer confirms that fans of San Andreas and Vice City will very much take to Saints Row 2...

Scheduled to arrive on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in October, Saints Row 2 is "as good a quality game - if not better" than Rockstar Games' all-conquering Grand Theft Auto IV. That's according to Dan Sutton, Associate Producer for the game at developer, Volition Inc.

Speaking in an interview with TVG in London recently, Sutton explained that gamers which preferred San Andreas to GTA IV would more than likely take to the upcoming Saints Row sequel:

"We want people to have fun and I think that if people liked San Andreas and Vice City then they'll definitely take to this a lot more than they may have done with GTA IV - just because we've kept a lot of the fun elements from Saints Row 1 and from other open-world games as well. "

Going further, Sutton confidently stated that Saints Row 2 would be in a position to stand up to Rockstar's juggernaut franchise come October. Throwing down the gauntlet, he commented:

"I think we're going to level the playing field easily. They have more staff than we do, but when you look at it, I really think we have as good a quality game - if not better. Especially when it comes to gameplay, especially - easily!"

The first part of TVG's interview with Dan Sutton will be going live shortly, along with our latest hands-on with the game - on the PlayStation 3!

No dude. Saint's Row 2's co-op is available either online or via system link. There is no split-screen or single system co-op option so, if you're playing offline, then you have to link up two consoles locally to play co-op.
