A trailer for the latest entry in the long-running Snowboarding series reveals a new look for the franchise...
EA has unveiled SSX: Deadly Descents, a new entry in its flagship snowboarding series. A trailer for the game indicates a new more serious tone compared to the colourful frivolity of earlier titles.
The announcement follows last week's rumours that a reboot of the SSX franchise was in the works at EA. A press release from EA revealed that the new game is aimed at “redefining the SSX franchise” and “will pit riders versus both mountain and man” in a “story of a team who seek to be the first to descend the faces of the most treacherous mountain ranges on the planet.” SSX: Deadly Descents is set for release on Xbox 360 and PS3

Yeah, err look at the article above the rumour piece that was posted five days later on December 13th - it reports an official announcment of the game. on December 8th, when we ran the rumour article, EA hadn't officially announced the game.
