EA reveals a late January launch for the skateboarding sequel...

Just days after the release of Skate It on Wii, Electronic Arts has today confirmed that Skate 2 will be heading to retail from January 23rd 2009.  The follow up instalment to EA Black Box's 2007 ground-breaking original, Skate 2 returns gamers to a very different San Valenona, which has been rebuilt following a devastating disaster...hence the name 'New San Valenona.

Scheduled to arrive on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Skate 2 sees players try to revive a decimated skating scene in the city, with a broader range of tricks than the game's first outing.

EA has also confirmed that next month will see the launch of an online Graphics Creator, allowing users to design their own in-game graphics for a range of clothing and and decks.  The Creator will be arriving on the official Skate website.

I'm sorry but you're wrong - skate is the perfect solution to far too many years of derivative Tony Hawk's - I wish they'd never gone to open worlds.
