Popular Japanese title becomes the arcade game with the most official tournaments...

SEGA's insect-battling-with-cards arcade game, Mushiking: King of Beetles, may not be a popular name in the West but it's popularity in Japan is insane, going so far as recently receiving an award from The Guinness Book of World Records.

Having notched up 100,297 officially-sanctioned competitions between May 2003 and November 2007, Mushiking can lay claim to "The arcade game for which the most official tournaments have been held."

We suspect by the accompanying photos on Famitsu that the Mushiking team is very chuffed indeed.
