US entertainment mag suggests the Silent Hill publisher has acquired the rights to the horror franchise...

Reports from the United States have today suggested that Konami has acquired the rights to Lionsgate Films' annual horror franchise, Saw.

The source of the news, US entertainment mag Variety, reports that the Silent Hill publisher picked up the video game rights following the demise of Hollywood-based outfit, Brash Entertainment.

According to the publication, the revived Saw video game is on course to arrive in time to see Saw VI hit cinemas this October, although this is yet to be confirmed by Konami.

Brash's Saw game was planned to launch on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
