North American Xbox owners to receive the trilogy of Grand Theft Auto whilst PS2 owners get San Andreas: Special Edition this autumn...

Rockstar Games has today announced that Xbox owners in North America will be able to buy Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy, made up of GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas. Meanwhile PlayStation2 owners will be able to enjoy a feast of GTA: San Andreas in a new Special Edition featuring a Hot Coffee free edition of the game, "The Introduction" prequel movie that uses the game's engine, as well as the "Sunday Driver" documentary that follows the Compton/Watts chapter of California's low-rider car club.

Rockstar announced yesterday that the documentary will be released on UMD-Video for PSP this Autumn...

European release dates are unknown at the moment, but we reckon that it shouldn't be too long after that both GTA: The Trilogy and San Andreas: Special Edition will be shipping over to this side of the Atlantic.

We'll have more news shortly...
