Confirmation of the new title appears on the recently launch SCEA blog...and it's not LA Noire...
Speaking on Sony Computer Entertainment America's recently launched blog, Director of Third Party Relations at SCEA, Michael Shorrock has confirmed the development of a PlayStation3-exclusive title by Rockstar Games.
Although details of the game are non-existent, beyond clarification that the title is not the previously announced LA Noire, Shorrock explained the relationship between the two outfits:
"Everyone knows to have success in this business you need to look ahead, identifying the talent and titles that are going to give consumers new kinds of gaming experiences that help set the bar for the rest of the industry. Rockstar has a heritage for doing just that."
He continued: "We have had incredible success with the GTA franchise and are happy to continue to offer those titles on our platforms...Rockstar really wanted to make a game that you can truly only do on PS3, harnessing the power of CELL and Blu-ray disc and this deal lets them do just that."
The exclusive deal with Rockstar is sure to have come as a relief for Sony Computer Entertainment, which has seen a number of previously PS3 'exclusive' titles like Devil May Cry 4, Mercenaries 2, and Assassin's Creed make the jump to multiplatform release on Xbox 360.

er...Killzone, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted are all first party titles...HAZE and UT3 are coming to X360 after a time... Assassin's Creed sub-standard!?!?

I hate it when people think that microsoft has the best line up in history, fact is none of the games have been proven to be any good(except for halo)such as bioshock and mass effect. The ps3 i think has the good chance at the holiday season i think cause rockstars gta seres was made on the playstation system and all of the fans of gta were mostly playstation fans. I think gta4 on ps3 along with rachet and clank: ftod. Are gonna have a big impact on ps3 sales.

theyre panicking .because they cant get games out on time and think this will placate their die hard fans? dont think so!you want next gen games on time get an x box 360

I'm sure SONY are VERY happy to have the next R* franchise a complete EXCLUSIVE. But I do not think it will come as a 'relief'!! I mean, esactly which exclusives did the PS3 lose?? DMC4, Mercenaries, and Assasin's Creed?? ALL sub-standard PS3 games, but top 3 tvg rules! ty games. Honestly the exclusives PS3 lost is not a big deal. We've got the BEST exclsuives, KILLZONEII, Heavely Sword, MGS4, Uncharted, HAZE, UnrealIII, GOWIII, TEKKEN, plus many more.
