Judas Priest's 'Screaming for Vengeance' becomes the first full downloadable album for Rock Band...
Harmonix and MTV Games have announced that Judas Priest's 'Screaming for Vengeance' will be the first full album to be made available for download in Rock Band. Both the full album and individual tracks will be released in the US on April 22nd for 1200 and 160 Microsoft Points respectively.
These tracks will then be available to European gamers when Rock Band's Music Store goes live in the territory on May 27th, following the game's timed exclusive release on the Xbox 360 on May 23rd. The album will add to over 70 tracks that can already be downloaded from the game's Music Store.
Here's a handy track listing for Judas Priest's 1982 classic 'Screaming for Vengeance':
- The Hellion - Electric Eye - Riding on the Wind - Bloodstone - (Take These) Chains - Pain and Pleasure - Screaming for Vengeance - You've Got Another Thing Comin' - Fever - Devil's Child
Since Rock Band's November release in the US, there have been over 8 million downloads purchased via the game's Music Store. The service allows gamers to listen to preview sound clips of any tracks they may want to buy, while it's also possible to download tracks indivdual or in packs of three or six tracks.

Sure it's great that they've put out an update disc for the PS2 but the songs selected are mostly crap compared to the packs you can download with the PS3! WTF?!

Oh, good. I was hoping we could start seeing additional game discs for this franchise on the PS2 (since we can't do the downloads thing like the 360 or PS3). Love that they've gotten the rights to use Teenage Lobotomy, too!

I can see alot of ebay shops setting up just importing Rockband to the EU, they will make loads, people get it cheaper and quicker. At the full price EA wants for it the game is a dead duck in the EU.

Activision is being really stupid about all of this. I am betting they are thinking that this kind of game is just a fad or something and is hoping to control the market as much as they can. All I can say about that is look at the whole IBM vs Mac issue. Mac went propriatary on all hardware and software while IBM remained open. Until recently 95% of PC sales were IBM compatable, and the software companies that were making games for the IBMs were raking in the cash. Anytime you make such a limiting thing to the consumer they will move on to a more versatile option. The next game that comes out that will work with any and all previously made guitars, mics (American Idol, Sing Star), drums and whatever else, is going to be the winner. Then Activision will be firing whoever made the decision to keep the patch from going thru.

US rockband plays on PS3 fine... it's region - free gaming on the PS3. I know this cos I bought Rockband from the States... total cost including shipping and VAT (from customs) and extra postage was just under £130.... cheaper than all this rip off prices we have to pay in the UK.. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH THAT????? NO body ever answers that question.
