Over 100 songs as AC/DC and Bob Dylan make debut and backwards compatibility confirmed...

Heralding the might of the rhythm/action genre and plastic peripherals, MTV Games, Harmonix and EA today revealed the final Rock Band 2 setlist.

Housing over 100 songs, 20 of which will follow as a free download during the autumn, Rock Band 2 is set to feature some of the biggest and most prolific artists to have ever strummed a guitar or smashed one through the drums, including AC/DC, Guns N' Roses, Bob Dylan, Metallica and Pearl Jam.

Highlighting the music industry's adoption of videogames, Rock Band 2 will mark the first and only videogame to feature tracks from AC/DC and Bob Dylan. So big is Rock Band it seems that after 14 years of silence, Axl Rose has chosen the game to debut Guns N' Roses "Let There Be Rock" from their forthcoming album Chinese Democracy.

If you own the original Rock Band you'll be able to import all of the downloadable content to-date, along with the option to export most of the disc tracks and take advantage of the new gameplay options available with Rock Band 2.

"With Rock Band, Harmonix and MTV Games set out to create a powerful music platform for music fans, their friends and families to discover music in a way unlike ever before," said Paul DeGooyer, SVP Electronic Games and Music, MTV. "We are honored that such legendary artists as AC/DC, Guns N' Roses, Bob Dylan and more have chosen Rock Band 2 as a new platform for fans to experience their music. As our catalog of disc and downloadable songs continues to grow, we are determined to continue to provide the Rock Band community an unmatched ability to customize their musical experience with the artists and songs they love."
