Chimera invasion heading to American shores as Nathan Hale joins the Sentinels...
An interview with Insomniac Games featured in the latest issue of the Official PlayStation Magainze UK has led to a host of details on Resistance 2 hitting the net.
As previously speculated, the sequel will take place directly after the original and finds Nathan Hale taken by the mysterious group to a base of operations in Iceland. There he discovers other humans injected with the Chimera DNA that provides various different benefits, the group of Human/Chimera hybrids go under the task force name of Sentinels.
Further information form the article alludes to three different co-op classes to choose from, each featuring an XP system to purchase new techniques and improve skills.
Intriguingly the health regeneration system appears to be based around killing the Chimera, so when you find your shields down it's time to jump straight back into the action and maintain the kill count.
Furthermore Insomniac Games suggests that the game will switch the action to the USA, where the Chimera invasion will see the San Francisco bridge and other famous installations.

Pretty good review, and I agree with most of the points (except about the AI - I feel that needs quite a bit of work for Resistance 3).
I think this is a really good game and a lot of fun (certainly a lot more accessible than Killzone 2, albeit not necessarily better), but it does have a few frustrating elements and certain sites did significantly overrate it.
Still, I look forward to the next game in the series (unlike most I quite enjoyed the plot, and particularly the ending), and with both this and Killzone 2 now I feel like the shooting things in the face genre is quite well catered for on PS3.
