The eagerly awaited Resident Evil remake fails to shift the units that Nintendo and Capcom would have hoped for.

Resident Evil (Biohazard) failed to meet its expected sales upon its first week of release in Japan. The game sold 104,000 units which put it third in the All-Format Top-10. Sega’s Sakura Taisen 4: Maidens Fall in Love for the Dreamcast was second selling 216,000 copies, whilst Bandai’s One Piece Grand Battle 2 for the PSOne came in at first shifting 246,000 units.
