Images from Japan suggest that the upcoming Wii instalment may revert to a rail-based FPS system...
Due for release at some point in 2007 (across Japan at least), new images and details have emerged from the Far East about Capcom's Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles for Wii.
Announced under a veil of secrecy last year, the game is purportedly set between the events of Code Veronica and Resident Evil 4, revealing the fall of Umbrella Corporation in greater detail. Japanese publication Famitsu has announced additional features for the game, including images that seem to suggest Umbrella Chronicles may follow the likes of Resident Evil: Survivor with FPS-based views, and comments that character movement will be rail-based - though players will be able to decide their own routes through the game.
Capcom is yet to reveal whether such details are accurate, though the report does confirm recent rumours that Resident Evil 4 will be updated and re-released for Wii. The edition will apparently include content from the PlayStation2 version of the game, along with a trailer for the upcoming Umbrella Chronicles.

Well they could certainly use the RE4 engine to do it - the Shiva AI may not be as good in that version, but I think it's probably technically feasible.

Rumors tell that RE5's Producer would like to make a new Resident Evil for Wii.
If capcom made a port of Dead Rising, they can do the same for RE5, Texture shrinkage and polygon reduction can do the job. The same was done at SNES/GENESIS era, it can be done again!

I'd like umbrella chronicles to have a face off at the end between all the survivors of previous resident evil games ,and all the enemys and the victims e.g richard aiken, enricho marini, kenneth hallway ,hunters, tyrants and maybe even Lord Saddler.
