First footage of squad-based shooter emerges, producer talks up control system...
Capcom has released a trailer for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.
Set during the events of Resident Evil 2 and 3, Operation Raccoon City has you playing as part of a squad of Umbrella mercenaries or US Special Ops forces combating the zombie outbreak.
Capcom Producer Masachika Kawata recently spoke to Famitsu (translated by 1UP) about the new title.
"The control system for this game has been changed to something you see a lot in third-person shooters, I think fans of that genre will be able to enjoy this game a great deal. You play as a member of Umbrella as you fight off not only the US special forces, but Leon S. Kennedy and the T-Virus-infected zombies as well. It's a chaotic three-sided confrontation that we're depicting with this TPS gameplay, and I think that's the main draw for this title. The game is set somewhere around RE2 or RE3, but it's a completely new story that we're writing -- a parallel world, if you will. There'll be a lot of aspects that'll make series veterans smile, though."
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is due out this winter and is said to be approximately 45% complete. A ton of information was released about the game last week. The teaser trailer below shows off the first footage of the team-based shooter in action.

they're taking the resident evil franchise into first person shooter territory. it's not horror, it's an action shooter. you're surely not old enough to remember the original, you certainly don't act it.
